After Round 10, the name on everyone’s lips in RAHL3 is Michal Maličký of HC LEV Senec. Against Ľadoborci he had a 6-point game, his team won 8:0 and stretched its streak to three games without allowing a goal. Maličký also comfortably leads the scoring race for the entire competition with 26 points. In the interview he talks about what is behind the scoring explosion, how Senec’s game has changed, why goaltender Aďo Nogely deserves the biggest share of the credit for the run of zeros and how far they want to go as a team in terms of results.
The Player of the Week in RAHL 2 is Matej Jurčák. His team, Alpha, managed to turn the game against Lions around and win 4:1. Jurčák was one of the hardest-working players on the ice, left his mark at key moments and spurred the team on to a disciplined performance. In the interview we go back over the decisive stretches, what worked in the Alpha Hockey Team’s system and what, on the other hand, still needs fine-tuning before the next rounds. We also talk about the locker room’s mindset after the win and where the team wants to head in terms of results.
The Player of Round 9 in RAHL 3 is Tomáš Mifkovič. His team, Night Riders, beat the Ľadoborci side by a score of 5:1. Tomáš Mifkovič contributed to the win with a penalty-shot goal and two assists. In the interview we look at the team’s performance, the decisive penalty shot, his pregame routine and the ambitions of a league newcomer.
In Round 8 of RAHL2, HC Senec added another important entry to the standings by beating Lions 3:0. The main figure of the game was forward Adrián Gurčík, who steered his team toward the win with two accurate shots. The modest scorer does not take the credit, however, and in his words the success is above all down to teamwork and his teammate’s great passes.
HK Petržalka had to wait longer for its first points of the season than this team is used to. Only in Round 4 did the bad luck finally end, when the Petržalka side beat Lions convincingly, 4:0. We talked about the breakthrough win, a shorthanded goal “Handzuš-style,” and how important a pregame buffet can be with Jozef Kocún – the RAHL2 Player of Round 4, who contributed to the win with a goal and an assist in his season debut.
The Player of Round 7 in RAHL 1 is Dominik Vaniak of the Uličníci team. In the game against a strong opponent, Black Jokers, he shone with two goals and an assist, playing a major part in his team’s valuable win. Uličníci managed to turn around a 0:2 deficit and pick up two important points. In the interview Dominik assessed his own performance and the team’s, and revealed what he thinks was behind the weaker start to the season and what the ambitions are for the games ahead.
In the third round of our top league, RAHL1, Black Jokers and Wild Hogs faced each other. After two rounds played, the “Boars” had two wins with a stunning goal difference of 20:7! In the first round the Jokers had a shooting spree against the “Pezinok ducks,” whom they beat soundly 9:1. They tied their second game 2:2 with champion WT Karaoke. So an even, high-quality contest was expected from this third-round game.
Jozef Ruček of the Rockets team decided the game against newcomer Ice Punkers practically on his own.
