RAHL2 fan vote: round five ends in a tie, four players with one vote each

The first fan vote for the player of the round in RAHL2 is closed, and it ended in a tie. Fans cast four votes in round five and each of them went to a different player. We are therefore not awarding the RAHL2 Fans' Player of Round 5 title.

A simple rule applies: the Fans' Player of the Round is whoever gets more votes than anyone else. When several players are tied at the top, the title is not awarded – we don't want to decide the winner by additional criteria that fans didn't know about when they voted.

Who received the votes. All four played for a winning team in round five. Michal Bariš, the HK Petržalka goaltender, posted a shutout in a 2:0 win over Alpha Hockey Team – and is the only one of the four who didn't record a point in the round. Two of the players are from TJ Družstevník Petržalka: Peter Tisovský and Ladislav Nyergeš each had a goal and an assist in a 5:1 win over HC Senec. Tomáš Šimek of Hockey for all had the same 1+1 line in a 3:1 win over Lions.

The most productive players of the round, on the other hand, were left without a vote. Jozef Kapel of Uličníci and Richard Tartaľ of Trnava Beast each put up three points (2+1) in a game that ended 4:4, but the fans chose differently. Nor did a vote go to Miroslav Cibula of TJ Družstevník Petržalka, whom the league picked as the Player of Round 5.

What the numbers say. In round five of RAHL2, 112 players took the ice and four fans voted. For comparison: in RAHL1 six votes came in and Ľubomír Patlevič became the Fans' Player of the Round with two, while in RAHL3 seventeen fans voted. With so few votes, a tie is only natural – one more vote would have been enough to produce a winner.

Voting on round six is already underway. Voting is open until Sunday, October 18, at 8:30, when round seven begins with the Lions – Trnava Beast game. The first vote has already been cast, and it went to Tomáš Heriban of TJ Družstevník Petržalka, who assisted on four goals against Lions. Also on the list are Miroslav Wieger (2+1), Patrik Nguyen, Ondrej Hraško and Peter Tisovský, who each scored two goals in the round, and everyone else who played in round six.

How to vote. Voting takes place on the Player of the Round page. Every logged-in fan has one vote per league per round. Starting Monday, October 12, we will set up voting with no registration required – confirming your vote through a confirmation e-mail will be enough.

It doesn't take much for the Fans' Player of the Round title to have a winner. In round five, it was a single vote short.
