No rituals, but two goals: Adrián Gurčík’s pair of goals delivers HC Senec’s win over Lions

In Round 8 of RAHL2, HC Senec added another important entry to the standings by beating Lions 3:0. The main figure of the game was forward Adrián Gurčík, who steered his team toward the win with two accurate shots. The modest scorer does not take the credit, however, and in his words the success is above all down to teamwork and his teammate’s great passes.

1. Two goals against Lions. What do you think made them go in for you like that this time?

Adrián: “Both of my goals came off perfect passes from Maťko Pokrývka. But the fact that they went in for me this time is the product of a team effort. One time it goes in for me, another time for other teammates; what matters is the two points in the standings.”

2. Important points in the standings, which are very tight this season. What do you say about your team’s current position? (6th place and 3 points behind the first-place team)

Adrián: “This year the second league is incredibly even; anyone can beat anyone. We’re taking it one game at a time. Even though we could have had a point or so more, there are still plenty of games ahead of us, and I hope we’ll move a little higher in the standings.”

3. Do you have a ritual of your own, or do you prepare for a game in some special way, with things going this well for you?

Adrián: “No, I don’t have any special ritual.”

4. Lions have players who play in RAHL3 for your “B” team. Could you feel a different atmosphere in the game because of that? Was there any ribbing between you?

Adrián: “There was no ribbing in that respect. We tried to focus on our game and didn’t want to underestimate anything, even though Lions are in last place, but as I mentioned, no game is easy this season.”

Thanks to the win, HC Senec stays close behind the top of the standings and confirms that this season it has the ambition to shake things up in the upper half of RAHL2. Adrián Gurčík showed that when he gets the puck on his stick at the right time, he knows what to do with it without any fuss. And although he does not want to talk about rituals, Senec fans can hope his recipe for goals keeps working in the rounds ahead.
