Christian Badalov: “Our biggest strength is probably that we’re a good group.”

The Player of the Month for September in RAHL 2 is Uličníci Pressburg forward Christian Badalov. At the start of the season he managed to score 6 goals and add one assist, becoming one of his team’s main driving forces. Even though he went into the season with practically no summer training, he showed excellent vision, efficiency and a feel for the game. In the interview he revealed how things went for him, how he sees the start of the season and what he considers Uličníci’s biggest strength.

1. In September you scored 6 goals and added one assist. What helped you most to get into that kind of form? Was there any special training over the summer?

Christian: “Well, I basically had no training over the summer. The first time I was on the ice was a week before the league started, so I was surprised myself that the scoring went so well.”

2. Which game in September was the hardest for you?

Christian: “None of the games we played was easy, but for me the hardest was probably the first one, against Trnava Beast.”

3. How would you rate the start of the season from the Uličníci team’s point of view?

Christian: “Well, the start of the season was good. In September we were first in the standings, and even though we lost a few games in October, I think overall we can be satisfied.”

4. Where do you see your team’s biggest strength?

Christian: “Our biggest strength is probably that we’re a good group and we enjoy every single game.”

5. What are your team goals for this season?

Christian: “I don’t want to speak for my other teammates, but I think our main goal is to make the playoffs, and that’s where the league starts, and we’ll see what we’re capable of.”

Christian Badalov confirmed that even without special training you can open a season in grand style. With his performances he helped Uličníci Pressburg to an excellent start and showed that the team is a tight-knit group that can pull together. If the team keeps up the commitment and the good mood from the start of the season, the playoffs should not be the goal, but only the beginning of further ambitions this season.
