The new 2026/2027 season is here! All three leagues start this weekend
The wait is over. The weekend of 5 and 6 September belongs to the return of amateur hockey — all three SZALH competitions enter the new season at once. The RAHL1 players will be the first to skate out on Saturday morning, RAHL3 joins in the afternoon, and RAHL2 opens its season on Sunday.
The 2026/2027 season will serve up a hefty helping of hockey: the nine RAHL1 teams face 18 rounds, the eight in RAHL2 play 21 rounds, and the sixteen RAHL3 teams, split into groups ZSA and ZSB, will play 22 rounds each. That makes 332 regular-season games in all — and we're only just getting started.
The titles are being defended by HK Petržalka in RAHL1, TJ Družstevník Petržalka in RAHL2 and Admirals in RAHL3, where the Pohár Nádeje was won by Alpha Hockey Team. All four of last year's champions are at the start, and the competition certainly doesn't plan on handing them anything.
The season will also bring its traditional highlights: in February the Winter Classic is played under the open sky — one game in each league. And on the szalh.sk website you'll find the whole season live: results, standings, statistics and player profiles.
See you at the rink. Long live the new season!
