Teodor Kintler was the central figure in the game against HC Senec!
Teodor Kintler was the central figure in the game against HC Senec. He was the only one to score, and did so twice; after the game he took the “golden helmet” home from the locker room, and after Round 10 his team holds second place in the RAHL 2 standings. In the interview he openly assesses his own performance, highlights the performance of his teammate in net, Jirko Šajár, and also talks about why he would most like to avoid the HK Petržalka team in the playoffs.
1. You were the central figure of the game against HC Senec, as the only one to get on the scoresheet, and twice at that. How would you rate your performance in this game?
Teodor: “I felt good in the game against HC Senec, and I’m glad I managed to score twice. Even though goals are always nice, I take it mainly as the result of good work by the whole team. I still see room for improvement, though, especially in the details of the game and in my defensive play. I believe I’ll build on this in the next games too.”
2. The performance of your goaltender Jirko Šajár also stood out in the game, as he recorded his first shutout of the season. Which of the two of you got the “golden helmet” put on his head in the locker room after the game for the best performance on the ice?
Teodor: “After the game it was me who got the ‘golden helmet,’ which made me very happy. But Jirko’s performance was fantastic, and without him that game certainly wouldn’t have looked so good. The helmet may have ended up with me, but he would easily have deserved it too.”
3. The RAHL 2 standings after Round 10 are very tight. Your team is currently in second place, which secures a spot in the playoff semifinals. Which team would you personally most like to avoid in the playoffs, and why?
Teodor: “In the playoffs we’d most like to avoid Petržalka, because they’re always very hard to play against. The last game showed us clearly that they’re not an easy opponent at all and can be dangerous. That’s also why they’re the ones we’d least like to draw in the semifinals.”
4. Among the prizes for the Player of the Round is a voucher for the Karaoke bar. Do you have a favorite song that you put on before a game?
Teodor: “I don’t have one particular song that I put on before a game; I go more by my mood. I’m a bit like Shazam – I listen to everything from rap to country. That’s also why I’d rather leave the DJ role to the others.”
It is clear from Teodor Kintler’s answers that his two goals against HC Senec were no accident, but a combination of work and a team-first approach. He sees room for improvement in the details, and he knows that the tight standings will not hand anyone an easy game and that opponents like HK Petržalka will always be unpleasant. If he and his team maintain the standard they have set, second place in the standings need not be the ceiling. The Player of the Round gets a €20 voucher from our partner WILD THING and also a voucher from partner LMTAuto.sk, who will take professional care of your car. From league partner Diamant Sóda he receives a drinks voucher worth €30.
